OCCZIM, the Organisation of Collective Co-operatives in Zimbabwe, is an independent provincial grassroots membership organisation founded in 1983 and registered under the Cooperative Societies Act of Zimbabwe (Chapter 24:05); Registration Number 4085, and a member of The Cooperative Federation of Zimbabwe.
Small Irrigation Projects
OCCZIM is dedicated to empowering communities through minor scale irrigation schemes that are aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. We assist farmers in developing gardens for the production of various types of crops and vegetables with the help of diesel engine pumps and solar powered systems. These projects boost farming output as well as guarantee a steady income and provision of food for families.
Poultry Rearing Projects
OCCZIM is committed to supporting the expansion of Zimbabwe's poultry sector. It is through broilers, layers and various species of roadrunners that farmers are empowered with requisite knowledge and tools for embarking on successful poultry businesses.
Goat and Sheep Farming
Integral to our livestock programs, goat and sheep farming offers a quick turnover on investment. These animals thrive in our local conditions, providing families with essential food and fibre while contributing to soil fertility through grazing patterns that promote biodiversity.
Cattle Rearing
Our cattle rearing program embodies the strength and resilience of our communities. With a focus on improved breeds and ethical rearing practices, farmers can boost their income through milk production, hide, and healthier breed stock, ensuring a prosperous and sustained livelihood
Fish Farming
Our fish farming initiative leverages local aquatic ecosystems. Training in pond construction, stock management, and sustainable harvest techniques, farmers are contributing to food security and embracing a culture of conservation.
Maize Production with Push-pull Technology
Revolutionizing farming and innovating within our farmers’ maize fields, the push-pull agriculture technology in maize production is a game-changer. This ecological technique deters pests and improves soil health without harmful chemicals, ensuring safety, sustainability, and a bountiful harvest.
Soya Bean Farming
High in protein and economic potential, soya bean farming supplements incomes and diets. Our comprehensive support spans from seed selection to market access, enabling farmers to navigate the agribusiness landscape confidently and successfully.
